STC Board Meeting Minutes

January 9, 2006

Present: Joe Devney, Jim Dexter, Richard Mateosian, Jessica Livingson, Jean Lundquist, Deborah del Mazo, Eunice Malley

Jan. 11 Party

We discussed plans for the party on Wed. Jan 11. We have several volunteers doing lots of things....great participation! About 20 people have signed up so far.

Treasurer

Deborah gave us a "verbal resume" and was unanimously elected as our new Treasurer.

IABC uses good PayPal-like vendor. Deborah will look into them for our meeting registrations. She will also document our financials procedures. Our relationship with Costco has expired, and there is no reason to revive it since they no longer have a relationship with Tierranet.

Meetings

We have use of the Hotel Shattuck through June for our meetings. Andrew Davis will be our speaker in February and will discuss assessing whether you are in the right job or need to move on. March will be a Java for Tech Writers presentation, and April will be Val Swisher and Mary Rosberg of Oak Hill Corp. discussing "How To Be a Stellar Consultant." We are looking into having DocToHelp and Word/XML presentations.

Newsletter

Gina has resigned as editor. Joe will get the FrameMaker software back from her. Joe will change the date on the newsletter Gina created before she left her post, change the date, and edit accordingly.

Chapter Rechartering

The charter is with STC International. They will decide Jan .28 whether or not to recharter us.

Membership

No membership report for Dec. back from STC International yet.
